About Flowers by Leenela

Flowers by LeeNela is more than a business—it’s a tribute to a family legacy of creativity, beauty, and a deep love for flowers. The name LeeNela is a heartfelt blend of my name and my late mother’s, symbolising a personal connection and a passion passed down from one generation to the next. Inspired by her, I continue this legacy, crafting floral arrangements that celebrate life’s special moments.

1. Clean the Vase Thoroughly

Use soap and warm water (or vinegar) to remove bacteria that could harm your flowers.

2. Trim the Stems at an Angle

Cut 1–2 cm off the ends at a 45° angle using sharp scissors or garden shears. This increases water uptake.

3. Remove Leaves Below the Water Line

Leaves in water rot quickly and cause bacteria to spread, shortening flower life.

4. Water & Feeding

Use Room Temperature Water. Cold water can shock some flowers.

5. Add Flower Food

If provided, use the flower food sachet. Otherwise, you can DIY with:

1 tsp sugar (nourishment),  few drops of bleach or vinegar (kills bacteria) and a 1 tsp lemon/lime juice (balances pH)

6. Change Water Every 2 Days

Rinse the vase, trim the stems again slightly, and refill with fresh water and food.

7. Where to Place Them

Keep Out of Direct Sunlight & Heat

Flowers last longer in cool, shaded spots away from appliances or heaters.
